ABOVE: The Hotel Santa Chiara is directly on the Piazzale Roma. The Calatrava Bridge or Ponte della Costituzione (foreground) connects the square with Venice's Santa Lucia Railroad Station.

The Piazzale Roma is Venice's gateway for buses, land taxis, trams, and other wheeled traffic from the mainland. It's also home to the People Mover, an elevated tramway that runs to the Marittima cruise basin and the Tronchetto parking island.

Five hotels and B&Bs are located directly on the Piazzale Roma or immediately above it, within a one- or two-minute walk from transportation to Venice Marco Polo Airport, Treviso Airport, and the Marittima cruise piers:
