Hotels near the Piazzale RomaFrom: Venice Hotel Directions with Maps
The Piazzale Roma is Venice's gateway for buses, land taxis, trams, and other wheeled traffic from the mainland. It's also home to the People Mover, an elevated tramway that runs to the Marittima cruise basin and the Tronchetto parking island. Five hotels and B&Bs are located directly on the Piazzale Roma or immediately above it, within a one- or two-minute walk from transportation to Venice Marco Polo Airport, Treviso Airport, and the Marittima cruise piers: Several other hotels are located just beyond the Piazzale Roma, no more than three or four minutes away on foot: The hotels below are a bit farther, but are still within 10 or 12 minutes of the Piazzale Roma with only a couple of bridges to cross. Some are lower-cost hotels or B&Bs: For more listings, see our Hotels near the railroad station page. The hotels on that page are also easy to reach from the Piazzale Roma, although you may have to cross the Ponte di Calatrava (a modern bridge that is high but with a gentle incline that makes it fairly easy to cross with bags).
