Copenhagen Transportation

Central Copenhagen is more compact than megacities like Paris,
London, or Rome. If you're healthy and don't mind walking, you won't need to
bother with buses or trains very often.
The bus,
Metro, and S-train systems are most useful for visits to
attractions in the outlying neighborhoods and suburbs (such as Frederiksborg Castle in
Hillerd and the Open-Air Museum in Lyngby). You can also use transit tickets to
ride the Copenhagen Harbor Buses (Havnebussen).
Tip:
The No. 26 bus runs frequently between downtown Copenhagen and the Langelinie
cruise-ship quay, with stops at popular sightseeing and shopping destinations
along the way. It's a handy way to reach the waterfront areas near and north of
the Little Mermaid.
Driving is easier in Copenhagen than in many European cities, at
least when you get away from the center of town. The motorways, especially, are
comparable to freeways in North America. U.S. suburbanites will feel at home as
they watch Volvo drivers change lanes without signaling or block traffic in the
far left lane.
