Terminal Fusina is a port area on the Venetian Mainland, just south of Mestre and Marghera. It serves as the arrival and departure point for car ferries between Venice and Greece. Terminal Fusina also has a campground, Camping Fusina, that was designed by the architect Carlo Scarpa and offers a full range of amenities (including mobile homes, bungalows, a restaurant, a pizzeria, a grocery store, and a swimming pool). In addition, Terminal Fusina has 1,500 parking spaces for cars--and after you've parked, you can hop on a water bus or pedestrian ferry that will take you to central Venice in 20 minutes. This makes Terminal Fusina a handy (and less expensive) alternative to parking garages at Tronchetto or Piazzale Roma on the edge of Venice's historic center, which are likely to be full if you arrive on a busy weekend or during the peak vacation months. What you need to know:Booking a parking space. If you reserve parking online, you'll get a substantial discount. Click here to visit Terminal Fusina's official parking site.
